Annie Oakley Volunteers

One hundred years ago Annie Oakley wrote to President McKinley and
offered to provide a very special service to her country.

Here is the letter to President William McKinley from Annie Oakley in which she offers the services of a company of fifty lady American sharpshooters who would provide their own arms and ammunition, to the government should war break out with Spain.

It is in the National Archives of the United States.
