B. 12-30-1931, Skeeter Davis (Mary Frances Penick), country singer teamed with high school friend Betty Jack and made a top single. After Betty Jack was killed and Skeeter badly injured in a car wreck, Skeeter became a top recording soloist and Grand Ole Opry (1959) star.

Event 12-30-1975, the city board of Anchorage, Alaska bars discrimination on the basis of sex, or sexual preference in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, and finance.
Event 12-30-1994, a lone gunman shoots seven people in two women's clinics in Brookline, MA. Two women, office workers Shannon Lowney and Lee Ann Nichols die. Almost two days later the gunman is captured after shooting at a reproductive health clinic in Norfolk, VA.
